AbstrakABSTRAK INDONESIA : Tidak ada ABSTRAK INGGRIS : Indonesian manufacturing sector has showed signs of deindustrialization since 2002. It has experienced a decline in the share of manufacturing employment. This research uses kaldor’s growth law to analyze the role of manufacturing sector in supporting economic growth in Indonesia. Kaldor’s first law states that “manufacturing is the engine of growth�?, the result showed that since the industrialization process. Manufacturing sector has become the engine of economic growth. Further analysis analyze the role of manufacturing sector during de-industrialization process. This analysis use kaldor’s first law the result showed that the decline in growth of manufacturing value added can cause economic growth decline. This mean that deindustrialization in Indonesia has a negative impact on economic growth or de-industrialization process in Indonesia are the decline in fixed capital investment, trade balance, imports of raw materials, exports to USA and the increased imports of capital goods, imports of consumption goods, export to Japan, exports to Singapore, imports from China.
